Ice Muddle


If you’re wondering, a muddler is a bartender’s tool which is used to mash (or muddle) fruits, herbs or spices into the bottom of a glass to release their flavour. Plastic muddlers are great for juicing fruit or crushing hard ingredients, such as nuts. The objective is not to create a pulpy mess, but to caress the essence of the ingredient, such as the fruit juice or essential oils from herbs.

How to use: Place ingredients into a cocktail shaker or glass. Press down and give the muddler a half turn. Release and continue the motion until muddled – about four to six turns. Muddle before adding ice.
